;This weekend spent replacing the Vitesse’s broken old tunnel with a new one. Old and new pics here.
It’s been lined with DEI heat and sound insulation material which is adhesive fibre backed aluminium, any edges and cuts to get around curves are covered in the same material in tape form.
A rubber seal is then applied to the edges of the tunnel to seal it to the bulkhead and floor. Despite purchasing the tunnel and seal from the same supplier (Rimmer Bros) I found that the seal barely protruded beyond the plastic edge when applied and I had to double up the thickness so the tail end of the cover was sealed against the floor.
