A technologist, car enthusiast, and photographic chronicler of the quiet English life. Returning to England in 2010 after time living and working in Boston, USA, Melbourne and Sydney David is now semi retired, when his IT businesses aren't keeping him busy he will be out with his camera or organising events for Men with Machines CIC.

With a background in IT security and compliance and software development spanning more than four decades, he has spent much of his career at the intersection of technology and business — most recently building Men with Machines and it's real world and online presence, a thriving community for classic and performance car and bike owners that addresses issues around mens mental health.

An early adopter who coded on the first home computers and has watched the internet evolve from its first flickering pages, bulletin boards and modems, and helped create some of the tech that runs it! David has always been drawn to tools that genuinely solve problems rather than simply promising to. His recent embrace of AI-assisted development reflects a pragmatist's instinct: retire from writing code, but never stop building things.

Away from the screen, David walks the Chilterns with Louise whom he met the year of the great storm in the UK, photographs canal towns on weekend escapes, and hunts out bluebells in Buckinghamshire woodland. His writing and photography is unhurried and observational — the same eye that notices the light on the Grand Union Canal at Berkhamsted, flowers in bloom or shadows cast by cityscapes also notices when politicians promises don't quite add up.

This web site is his attempt to make years of writing, photography, and projects actually findable — a personal archive built with the same thoughtful pragmatism that runs through everything he does; pragmatism and persistence that earned him, and others, The Queens Award for Voluntary Service* in 2020.
