They came across Easter Morning

They came across Easter morning

David M Banes & Suno - Prompts by Me.

I’ve dabbled in music creation apps over the years, and have written posts here and on Facebook about the state of the world but never combined the two. Here’s Ai helping be put words to music on the compassionate side of the global ‘boat people’ issue we are dealing with, or not;

Here is 'They came across Easter morning’ a massive rework of Easter Aliens my instrumental from 2005; reworked for current times.

- Landing where the gulls all scream.
- We were holding Sunday papers.
- They were holding bigger dreams.

Created using Suno Ai from my prompts with heavily edited and extended lyrics.

They came across Easter morning

Over the grey-green sea

They landed by the jetty with the peeling paint

Crowded rubber, rusty harbours,

People wrapped in silver blankets on the shoreline

“How do you choose who gets to enter?

Who gets turned around at dawnlight?”

I said

“We stamp papers

We make phone calls”

Easter aliens

Landing where the gulls all scream

We were holding Sunday papers

They were holding bigger dreams

Easter aliens

Hovering above our fear

All this talk of psalms and saviours

And they just want you to hear

We heard their broken English

Hot tea in paper cups

They pointed at the shoreline

At rubber boats washed up

You asked about their journey

They paused

Then shook their heads

“We came to see your borders”

You drew them in your heads

Easter aliens

Landing where the gulls all scream

We were holding Sunday papers

They were holding bigger dreams

Easter aliens

Hovering above our fear

All this talk of wealth and riches

And they just want to stay here

They showed us our own reflection

Tiny boats like bits of pollen

Blown between the wars and waiting weather

They asked

“If your child was drowning

Would you argue over language?”

You cried then

I started shaking

All our answers felt like damaged letters

They traced a tiny planet

Spinning on your face

“From here you look so fragile

From there

we call it mean”

Then someone started praying

Someone checked their phone

They rose up through the seagulls

Left us on our own

Easter aliens

Landing where the gulls all scream

We were holding Sunday papers

They were holding bigger dreams

Easter aliens

Drifting back into the queue

Not a single shot was fired

Just a question—what if that was you?

They came one Easter morning

Left as quietly as rain

Boats still scrape the harbor

Headlines stay the same

But sometimes

Late and sleepless

When the sky looks almost blue

I see a distant glimmer

And wonder what they look like

So do you…
