Mac OSX taking a bashing

Apple’s OSX appears to be taking a hit with Symantec’s threat report indicating that threats targetting this platform could be an issue. There are several ZDNet articles and Fran Foo has a good commentary here. Having worked in IT security for years, many at Symantec, I’ll back her up. 🙂

To put this into perspective, there are many more operating systems out there with greater market share than the Mac; for example Linux, PalmOS and Symbian. Every year security reports reckon these OS’ are the next hot target. Don’t panic yet, OSX users.
