Finding myself in the garden when I can't get out for a photo walk in the countryside of local towns, I've been working on my skills, or lack of, photographing plants.
This Turkish Sage is right at the far end of the garden within a clump of it's friends, late evening with the sun behind it but the mid distance in shade which is crucial to getting this type of photo.
With metering and focus on the lit bloom and exposure dialled down to f/4.5, with a bit of negative compensation, I can get this lovely dark background. I'm working on a few more before the blooms fall.
