The Project
Having used Tumblr for many years I realised my blog posts from years back were essentially invisible because none of the available templates gave me the tools to find them.I also realised that my many log form posts were of some value, and again almost impossible to find.

A great platform when it launched it has stagnated somewhat over the years and become increasingly difficult to find my own content.
The export of the blog from Tumblr was easy but I was disappointed to find that they no longer export in standarised format rather just dumping out HTML files for each post and a folder full of images. Still at least the image file names are matched with the post ID.
What followed was two days of many iterations over the content to get it into base44, my platform of choice for Ai software builds.

The solution is this web site. Built using Ai it holds most of the blog posts from the year 2001 onwards and may if not all of the photos and graphics. The Ai has extracted the long posts and and turned them into articles and I added the 'Projects' and 'Gallery'.
The emphasis has been on creating novel, intuitive and fun ways to quickly navigate 25 years worth of content. I will admit to using Ai to sprinkle so generated content about world events into the mix mainly as reminder to me of things that have happened.
