I joined in 2011 not long after returning to the UK from Sydney, Australia. With plenty of hospitality and motorsport experiance it seemed a good thing to get involved in being just a few miles from home.
Very quickly I realised they were in dire need of an IT system; that's when the 'booking system' started, very quickly became a full event management system. Unfortunately the committee as at 2023 decided they didn't want to take on 12 years of continual software development, mostly funded by other events also using the system so it was retired.
We did a handover in 2024 with me there as a customer in 2024 and 2025 and loving the different perspective on the event.
2026: Another year with the club at Kop Hill Climb, pitch in a different location and a bit cramped. We did point this out to the new team prior to the event, and suggested a fix but they ignored me. :) Unsurprisingly on the day there were large gaps were I said there would be...
