I'd always wanted a food business, Bean & Crain was it and was kicked off as a sourdough bread business also selling coffee and chocolate. My favourite foods.
I self taught baking, bought all the gear and had a fair idea. Covid-19 threw a spanner in teh works but we diversified and started representing local food producers carrying dozens of products and delivering food locally and UK wide by the time we were half way through the first lockdown.
As Covid tailed off and the supermarkets got their act together the business died a natural death. Still we'd put on 2500+ customers, were fortunate to be classed essential workers so managed to get out delivering on empty roads most days.
